View Full Version : Soulbow for SR

As I'm sure most of you know, the Soulbow has avery high p.atk as trade-off for atk speed. The re-use time isnt much different from other bows, it's the actualy time it takes to shoot thats longer. This means that after you shoot an arrow, you have less time to kite before you're ready to shoot another.
It is the opinion of quite a few people I've talked to, and it makes sense, that a Soulbow is not the best choice for a SR. SR's naturally have lower p.atk than the other two archers, and at the same time are the fastest of the three, making a Carnage bow the better choice to take advantage of thier speed and kiting abilities in between shots.
I'd like to get a few more opinions, especially from SR's that currently or have used a Soulbow in a pvp situation. Thanks for any input.

If you can afford a decent OE'd BOP then you most likely can save up a few extra and get the carnage.

Which doesn't have Cheap Shot. Get an OE BoP or a Soul Bow...the difference in P. Att. makes up for the little less ability to kite.

I've seen an over ed' BoP compared to a Soulbow.
Soulbow comes out on top, no question. Reason being, the Grade matters. No matter how high the P.attack is on the BoP its B Grade will stop it from doing as much damage or critrate as a Soulbow with same P.Atk. against opponents that have A Grade armor.
Also, Soulbow has +PVP damage.
Carnage might not be bad if you don't care for cheapshot I suppose..
But you might be overestimating just how much more you can kite in that split second you lose with a Soul Bow.

No offense, but wth would you want CS for? QR and Guidance are waaaaaaaay better for PvP than CS, which can only make a slight impact in a very long lasting fight such as a siege.
Soul Bow w/QR or a very highly OE BoP w/either QR or Guidance is the way to go for any archer, imo.

Btw, the very slow bows do have less reuse delay than the slow ones, the APM rate is almost the same, but the kiting ability of a very slow bow is, as you pointed out, lesser than a slow one.

Assuming the bow will be used strictly for pvp, what would be best for SR, +7 Carnage w/ Mana UP (my current bow, 528 p.atk) or a Soul Bow w/ Quick Recovery.
What I should ask first is what exactly does quick recovery do. Does it increase your actual shooting speed, giving you more time to kite. Or does it decrease your re-use time giving you even less time to kite between shots, but increases APM?
Thanks

Thankssoulbow is worse slows down ya kiting, therefore stick with da carnage bow, though I still say try for OEd BoP

The +7 Carnage would suit your SR better.
As for QR, it reduces the time between each shot (each attack motion), so yea, it gives you even less time to kite.
