Ok I've been researching this for a little bit and just needed some input. I need to get a laptop which can handle l2 damn good and other apps such as any media player etc. etc.

Now which processor is better in your opinion and why? AMD Turion 64 or Pentium M?

Another question is, I heard only HP has AMD Turion 64, are HP's reliable?

Thanks

p4 laptop definately. but i'd wait til c4 releases since amd lappytops are cheaper. if the game runs smoother on amd's when c4 releases i'd vouch for the amd laptop. but for now p4 all the way. (also shouldnt this be in the tech support section? O.o )

You can get the turion for a few hundred cheaper with similar config.
It'll have about the same performance but less battery life.

I'd say AMD for sure on a desktop, but not sure how AMD's stack up against intel in the laptop department. I'd say just go for intel on a laptop despite my hate for intel.

Main difference is not performance it's battery life. AMD sucks up significantly more juice. AMD is also significantly cheaper whch means yu can beef up the rest of the system for the same amount of cash. I dont pplan on gaming away from a plugin so I would go AMD.

AMD for Desktop Comps, Intel for notebooks.

Not sure about the laptop department...

But for desktops evidence generally agrees that AMD works better in gaming environments. Intel is faster in other tasks such as video rendering and whatnot.

AMD pro: 64 bit architecture for down the road when more and more programs take advantage of this.
Intel pro: HT. Some may argue that extra multitasking capabilities provided by HT will more greatly affect your overall computing experiance than AMD's almost unnoticable advantage in gaming FPS will.

I have two AMD64 computers myself, so I can't really give you a solid compare and contrast opinion.

Either is fine. The people willing to stand by their beloved company 'til the end are just dumbasses.

Facts : Intel Centrino mobile platform is about 20-25% more power efficient.
So your laptop will run from 40 mins to even 90 mins longer with intel procesor.
AMD`s run on lower clock so by construction they are more efficient , intel procesors are just pure mhz , AMD is more advanced.
The other fact is that when it comes to gaming AMD>Intel.
I personaly have AMD in my desktop and in 2 months i`m getning laptop with amd mobile platform , screw that extra battery time ;d .
I`m geting this asus lap http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=5&l2=24&l3=0&model=794&modelmenu=1
Its quite good ;d gforce 7300 / 64 bit AMD .
This lap has the procesor you want , its price is resonable , has strong gfx , its quite light. Not mentioning about such nice bonuses like web cam , 16:9 touch pad or very nice desing .

http://www.anandtech.com/cpuchipsets/showdoc.aspx?i=2429&p=6 AMD wins in every Gaming benchmark. Also AMD Laptops with Tourion chipset run at 1600mhz Frontside bus, Compared to Intel 533mhz.

AMD usually is better at rendering game engine programs. So for your gaming needs I would go with AMD. If you plan on running multiple programs at once, more for clerical or business work I would go for Intel. Really I would go for the laptop that has the best Graphics card, for the best amount of money. Get a fast graphics card, and I know they are rare on laptops, but try not to get an on board one.
