a> get card from same producer as your wlan router producer
b> make sure that card can conect external antena
c> look at this http://martybugs.net/wireless/biquad/ its bi quad antena for your router will make signal stronger
d>you can also conect bi quad to your w lan card
f> wi-fi sometimes sux like when its bad weather or so
e>you can buy ready bi quads or other antenas in media markt or whaterev u have back in yr country
Few more things antena @ ROUTER has to be in horizontal or vertical position , if its standard antena
you can also conect your usb w lan card to usb wire and just see if different placing will make signal stronger.
Use usb cable to put antena AWAY from pc , metal case can make signal weaker.
well my problem with my usb netcard is that i disconnect when i stand still in la2. Allso when i download normally then the downloads stop in the middel of the download. It's freaking annoying <.< .

Yup , best get pci card < check if u have free IRQ , i`m forced to use USB stick coz i have all irq taken> and like buy/make bi-quad and conect it to your card .Aim at your router and you should get nice stabile conection

I would never recommend Wi-fi to anyone after the troubles I've had with my network and even now after months and months of messing with it to fix the signal it cuts out intermittently for no apparent reason whatsoever.
Doesn't help that I live in a fairly old Victorian house with thick walls and floors/ceilings and it must be stretching the signal strength.
Good old wires never hurt anyone anyways.
well im sharing my net with 40 ppl and im a student so im dead poor. And this wireless crap is free so x.x . So what card should i get to get the best connection ?

Linksys Has good Wireless products, the only thing with that card Psy is that that router has to Support MIMO. So if you get that card; and if the router is not MIMO ready, waste of money IMO since it isn't ready to accept that type of technology. It also depends on what technology the router is running. If it's running a 802.11b your speed would be 11mbps. 802.11g would be running @ 54mbps.
Again, Linksys is a good choice.
