Ok. Getting a dagget w/ MM is completely out of my budget. However crystal dagger and dark screamer are within my budget .
I know that the p.atk on the crystal dagger is 136 compared to the dark screamer / grace dagger's p.atk of 122.
however for the SA's point of view, does having that extra 14 p.atk make up for loosing out on focus SA? or evasion SA?

#1 CD doesn't come with "crit thingy sa"
#2 MM is being removed from the game in c4.
It's called critical damage. I also recommend you get that instead of a DS. It's better for both pvm and pvp. But for pvp nothing matches might mortal. Might mortal is not beind removed in c4, btw. That's nothing more than a rumor.

CD doesn't have a crit damage SA, it has crit poison, and crit bleed. Hence the question.

When a dagger skill lands, it says "critical hit" right? So crit damage will help there.
PvE get DS/focus, you crit like mad, and with your attack speed, it's amazing. And hearing Crit! Crit! Crit! is fun (if you turn your sound up).
Yes, Crystal Dagger does have Critical Damage SA; it's what replaced MM as an SA option for the dagger.
And no, MM is not being removed in C4.
^
CD w/CD does more damage per minute than DS w/focus btw.

Critical damage replaced might mortal when it was removed. It can get CD.
yeah I went to the blacksmith and saw it there.

Crit damage is also nice for your specials. And with a 138+ regular crit rate (which is sufficient), it works out really well.

Yeah, the description on the cd doesn't have critical as an available SA, wasn't till I happend to have it in my inventory that I saw it at the blacksmith.
Luckily I got a blue stage 8 when I cracked open a pumpkin, so all is good in the hood.

If you get buffs like deathwhisper constantly while leveling it's better to go with a focus dagger as most of your crit damage will come from the buff and not the crit dmg SA bonus.
And no 138+ crit rate isn't sufficient when you can have 210+

they don't stack? Deathwhisper adds to your crit attack, wherease when you crit, it does more damage.

Never said anything about not stacking, the continuous damage ouput from more crits and the extra damage from deathwhisper is better than not critting often but a little harder with Crit damage.
If you have buffs to make crits stronger, you want as many crits as you can get.
Actually, as long as crit damage stacks, any class is better off with a CD dagger than a focus dagger. The damage per minute is higher because not only does crit damage boost even better when you crit more, but the CD daggers all have more patk than the focus ones. It works this way all the way up through A grade.
Don't ever misinterpret more crits as always better. Patk is every bit as important as how often you critical.
I've run through the numbers once and critical damage, if it stacks with buffs, does in fact do more damage.

Seriously don't state 'facts' and say you tested it when you don't know what you're talking about you're confusing people.
Yes you might get a little more damage if you get both crit dmg and deatwhisper because it's % based on how much damage you do.
But that little % is nothing compared to getting another 3 crits in a short while and getting the full deathwhisper bonus on those hits too.
So basically you get 50% extra damage per crit with a CD crit damage and 50% of the 'extra' damage, now we're gonna compare the damage of a full hit's 50% and the crit damage's difference 50%.... now you tell me which does more damage over time.

#1 your signature doesn't say what dagger class you've played to a respectable level.
#2 I kill things so quick, I don't think the loss of regular p.atk going down to the focus weaopn will warrant the extra 1 or 2 crits I might get.

Seriously if you're not going to properly read and at least try to understand the explanation about the damage difference don't even make a topic where you ask about it.
Don't be so obnoxious just because I disagreed with you. Would you like to see why I say crit damage does more or are you the type who lets your ego do the talking?

You are obnoxious, and are arguing theory. Dagger users are about burst damage, not damage over time. I would rather have a couple giant hits, than a couple mediocre ones.
Well.....yeah for pvp. Crit damage does boost the damage of your blows too. If you can't get mm, crit damage is a ... really poor substitute. It just helps that it also does more damage over time anyway.

I have used a Crit dmg dagger and focus dagger and when fully buffed i believe that focus is better for hunting
i have kris patack 161 + 72 crit rate
crystal dagger patack 145 +140 patck in crits
I believe it works like this, Crit dmg for pvp and focus for hunting.
Im AW and all i got is my crit power passives and Hex to exploit this power, now with crit dmg on top of these moves on light armour and robes (no hex on robe users) i can do a fair bit of extra dmg and this help alot because you need to crit hard and quick.
fully buffed With these crit power passives (crit power lvl 5) i hit for about 3x the dmg of a normal hit with a natural crit and with focusdagger and full buffs manage to get 271 crit rate and with that i crit alot(with song of hunter 400+).
This meen if i hit 2 crits in a row i just did 6 hits worth of dmg and it isnt uncommon to get 4 crits in a row.
theres what i have seen in my time as dagger i let you decide
