Destroyers vs archers

If a destroyer uses a bow is it possible for him to beat an archer in open pvp? i know if he dosn't have a bow it's not happening............

I have a destroyer alt, and the chances of you beating a archer in *open* pvp is very very low unless the archer is mentally retarded or lagged really bad. Archers run faster than you and have an additional 400 range w/ a bow. You may be able to kill a archer in a siege, say in the throne room
but almost never in the open. Your forte is against melee classes, and a bow works great against them. I had around 1800 patk on my 4x destroyer(+4 emi) w/ rage/bd/prophet buffs and well over 4k when I hit frenzy. When you hit 7x you can have over 10k patk w/ the right tat's and armor

As long as it isn't an enclosed area, the archer should have no problems beating a Destroyer, of whatever level basicly. However, if the archer is within the Destroyers archer range when he hits Frenzy, 1 crit can be enough , and the archer is dead :P

destroyers have a hard time beating archers, because even if you have a bow they have more range than you. The only thing i can think of is going +dex and bw set(gives you speed), so you can be faster and hit him with the bow. However mass pvp and sieges is not that way because its a bunch of ppl hitting each other, so you will have a chance of hitting and killing archers. Not in 1v1 thou

so basicall destroyers are........... guys with high hp that just run around and hope to get in someones range :(.......... i knew i should of just rolled an archer.......... most of the server is archers so i guess the destroyer is almost uselss :of_swt:

Open pvp run your destroyer after the healers. One crit you will have them scared enough to start healing themselves. Thats when the real dd's can kill people :P

As a destroyer you shouldnt target archers that much when using a bow in mass pvp. Mages are your first target, simply because you can sometimes even 1 shoot em with a critical, its hilarious. If you dont see any mages/healers you can try hitting a melee, althou it wont be that good because heavy armor users have resistance against bows. That leaves you against archers and light armor users, which can be hit by usin a bop with guidance, magestic heavy, your accuracy toggle buff and mayb go some +dex. The damage against light armor users is insane too so its not that bad

In the end, your only limitation is range, but in a massive pvp fight where you dont know if youre going to get targeted by 5 people or not, range is something you wont miss that much when you find yourself dealing more damage than an archer :ef_happy:

only thing that pisses me off is when i got to go head to head with an archer....... anytime u got a pker comming after u even if there the same lvl their an archer............ i like to be able to hold my own..............

btw about the going after casters thing........ tried that they just chain sleep u............

i dont want to come off as the wrong way, and other people might agree with me. but ive been reading alot of your threads and all your posts is just a bunch of bitching. your class cant be the best at every little thing. when people tell you shit about a class they mean it. xtreme is one of the best destroyers on the server. i watch a lot of his vids. if you want to know how to play one downoad his vids or listen to what people are telling you and stop bitching and being so negitive "oh man i cant kill an ARCHER witha bow" and archer is ment to use bows... of course they are gonna beat you dumbass. play the game and get over yourself plz. everyone can flame me or whatever but someone had to say it.

you dont need to be an archer or a mage to own... i personally prefer a destroyer or a gladiator with bow over any archer, why? I like melees, high hp and defense, and im lucky that my destroyer can use the bow pretty good. Besides, one shooting mage is as fun as hell, specially with a badass looking orc xD

destroyers have a sick p.atk with a bow, i've seen a few people use them and own. but against an archer in open PvP, destroyer wont be able to use the bow. Go tyrant = fastest run speed (totem of rabbit) in game, maybe u can catch them in between stun shots, punch of doom, and melee the sh1t out of them

It's a bullshit. With rage (+55%), destroyer's pattack is more than archer has. Usual, in mass PVP destroyer isn't a target No1 (too many targets, weaker than orc), there's no need to kite and green ranger kills many.

Are you serious about this? I don't engade PvP unless I have Mental Aegis .... and Destroyers even have Lion hearth. Try sleep that.

anything goes in mass pvp its all about the people you play with cuze no matter how solid one single player is it matters little against a whole crew.

I watched the video... nice music but it didnt exactly seem like an advertisement for your class since you never ended up meleeing anyone.

I also couldn't tell if you ever got to use or abuse frenzy.

Looked to me like you would have had more fun during that pvp if you had actually been a real archer (HE/SR/PR).

its hard to melee people in fights i get into primarily because most of kain is archer class and also the fights are always outnumbered in enemies favor. So we're always on our toes

And besides, this is a topic on destroyers vs archers, and I show here that I can hit jus as hard as they can with a lot more hp for cushion. lack of range is the downfall but it's a pretty crazy thrill runnin so close into enemy lines to fire.

LOL @ this thread. man listen this is commin from a person who has played a Destroyer for a long ass time.
Destroyers cant beat ranged most of the time of course with that sed most classes cant beat other classes 9/10.
I personally go after healers in seiges yes may seem like ur to weak to do anything big, but destroyers are assist classes that do great solo aswell. When you go into a seige you are trying to eliminate all the ppl that are robed first meaning healers then u wanna attack nukers that are busy nuking somebody else.
I lose 90% of the time against a archer because my class cant handle the kiting and range thats something that all 60+ Destroyers have learned to live with. Depending on the archer u fight you can tear them apart. He= ur worst nightmare. Sr = your worst nightmare. Pr = Mass pvp target unless they focus on u then once again worst nightmare.
As a Destroyer get a 2 handed sword and a blunt for your bow.
You wanna be a Destroyer that can beat the unbeatable then go buy a hack but if u wanna do fair in pvp you need bars.
A main bar with ur 2-hander and it's skills. 2nd bar above it with ur blunt and skills also have ur bow on it aswell if u want a bar with ur polearm choice but that doesnt count.
Heres your goal against any opponent ...
master switching bars to utilise weapon skills and quickness
1.Stun your opponent
2.Switch to your Sword and fight normally bust a few hardcore moves
3. switch to ur blunt and stun
Once your in frensy and Guts range. if your fighting a high dmg class
4.Switch to stun and dont switch back until stun lands
5. frenzy then BR and once again Let out all the heavy hitter moves Crush of Doom every so often but dont spamm it.
6.if they are still alive and Frenzy is fading Guts it up and spam stun to buy u as much time as possible.

Mass pvp tear out ur Blunt bar and ur set make sure ur bow is on it.
