What makes Gustin great?

I'm a long time Devianne player and have recently decided to have some extra fun on Gustin, my question to all of you long time Gustin players is why should I stick with this server? What's the interesting history when it comes to Gustin? Which alliance/clan holds supreme power? Do people actually PvP? Long story short what makes Gustin special?

What makes Gustin special is all the cool people that plays on this server. Yes we pvp. A lot. We have 2 very strong alliances atm that's fighting each other and quite a few smaller alliances that either helps the bigger alliances, pvp vs each other or just pve and raid. I have played on gustin since C1 and very much has changed, the server was basically 1 sided until C3. The only thing that I would want to change to gustin is that we need more people, so come over to gustin, we want you! :P

Koga makes gustin a special place.

though many of the clans on Gustin are carebear and hide behind teh excuse of a PK war versus official war, our clan has as many official wars as we can get so atleast we are almost always at war with someone. come C4 it will be even easier for us to be at war too :of_luv2:!

The reason I like Gustin is because it's a small server allowing a small clan like mine to actually make an impact :dwm_happy

So far my info on Gustin leads me to conclude....Dioptase > Gustin

like all the other small servers (ie, not bartz/siege/kain) gustin is a small server. what's different about gustin is that it was dominated for almost a year by Eternal Avatar. Around the end of C2 EAA finally lost its grip on power, and Nightmare alliance overtook EAA as the premiere alliance on gustin. Since then it's been a war between Nightmare and Malvolence, which absorbed most of the remaining EAA players that didn't quit/WoW.

what to expect in gustin's upper-echelon:
M vs. N... both large alliances with informal allies chipping in on both sides (LCN, SVP)
PK wars... why kill someone 4 times for 1% loss each time when you can kill him once for 4%? this has been debated a couple times but it seems that neither side is interested in a formal Ally War until C4
lots of PVP, well, sort of... Nightmare's core is european while Malevolence's is american, so it makes for odd timing on large scale pvps. What you can expect, though, is a lot of ganking of the opposition when it's primetime

if that doesn't sound appealing, there are a lot of smaller clans and alliances that want no part in this conflict. These clans find ways to enjoy the game, but aren't involved in the upper-level conflict/drama, and don't pvp as much (some not at all). For a casual player, gustin is a nice place, mostly good people, not overcrowded, plenty of opportunity to siege (as long as its not aden or giran!), just don't get too ambitious.

I think the whole PK thing is just a remenant style of thinking that was EAA.

btw I am one of them peeps who argue for official wars over PK wars cause you have less downtime during official wars resulting in the ability to lock hunting grounds down easier as you would be ganking the enemy more frequently disheartnening them and stoping their exping more frequently than you would in a PK war.

but again I stress... there are two sides to the whole argument etc etc etc.

I like Gustin because allot of these smaller clans are rising and getting stronger allowing more open pvp and what not... it's not that these smaller clans don't want to be involved in a major war like the one with M and NM... it's that many of them see the war between M and NM as old EAA feud/hatred continued and want to close that chapter in their book... and for many... were not even around for the first fight so don't care much for it.

the history of gustin? thats just a bomb waiting to explode.

but there is plenty of PVP. Im seeing more and more wartags as days go on. Most of the castles get sieged every siege weekened. The current "Big dog" alliances are Malevolence and Nightmare (Incubo). Malevolence and NM are currently fighting each other.

I'd say take one siege weekend to watch the sieges from the crystals. Some sieges are big some are small, but most are fun.
