I'm not 100% sure, but I do believe it's from the good old Starcraft days.
There was this race in the game called Zerg, and they had these really cheap troops called Zerglings if I remember right. A technique was then to produce masses of these crappy but cheap troops, and attack the enemy with them.
I think that's where the expression "A Zerg" comes from, but again I'm not 100% sure.

This is where you are wrong, yet again, but you're probably used to hearing those words day to day so this won't mean much to you. Your alliance is huge and under one roof. I got to see your numbers at Giran the other night and this 50billion clans vs little SP is a crock of shit. I was expecting to see more defenders at Giran than I did but you fail to take a few things into account. Your clans are very active for your special events (siege/antharas) and in full force when needed. I had 9 people at the start of siege from my clan and there were many other clans defending Giran that had similar numbers. Furthermore, you are a single alliance, even almost outnumbering your opposition so who's carebear? We are not allied with Giran's owner. We show up to defend and try to coordinate with a clan we interract with in battle only. You guys are cuddling with each other from morning to night, so what the hell do you expect? Talk all the trash you want.. Your "zerg" got bored and decided to wake up a bunch of neutral clans that didn't want anything to do with your pathetic cause. Many of them remain neutral even after you pestered them half to death. Enough of the "whole server vs us" bullshit. It's stupid :P

Our first siege was after we had declared our clan "not neutral" and decided to fight back. I believe that would have been the Oren siege where we took it and you guys took it back at the end when we went after Giran. What are you talking about?

You people post SS that means nothing... because of camera view... some people may not like me posting this... but fact is this is the members we had 2 mins before siege sat waiting for it to start at giran... this is for PWN only... but from what i could see at the start we had the biggest groups... now stop making up lies 'oh u guys had 270' - 'i saw 90' etc etc - its lame cos u cant back it up.
