The 'claws' have nothing to do with the my SH. It's the other way around. They are wearing claws because of the character it was meant to be. Sure.. I don't use them ingame ( Acumened A weapon ftw ), but it's still there.

He's a brilliant artist but I'm afraid you're right. The first thing he said to one of my pieces was "would be cool if it wasn't traced". So I gave him the stages to prove it and he's ignored me since.

I personally don't comment on any of his work because he already knows what he's going to do and what he wants in the pieces. I think he's just posting the stages and isn't asking for feedback.

Still no reason to act like an elitest cock when someone gives an opinion on the colour yellow though.

Well i really don't think his post was intended to retrieve suggestions. More or less its a "look what I can do" type of post. Which isn't so bad, he is not being stuck up about it but confident. Most good artists know their strong and weak points and its pretty mundane to point it out, unless you truely know deeper then the obvious, or a way to improve it. But I think a lot actually miss the elements of the first piece. If you know a bit about art, then you know that all art fallows a line. This would be the flow of the piece, where it starts and where it stops. You can't really see this line because its a subconscious path, that is unless you know what your looking for. The most difficult thing I find about flat pieces of art is that they don't have this line. Your eye goes crazy exploring the entire piece and you actually miss out a lot on what you are seeing. however chainer was able to create a Line.

To all that thought there was too much yellow, look again. The yellow is prolly the strongest part of the girl. First off against all the dark tones it stands out, so it catches your eye. Now if it was just a single splotch or two of the yellow it wouldn't be as effictive. However chainer uses it to make a BOX around the girls face, and that is the main purpose. Now that your Eye is drawn into this box the next thing you will see is her eyes. Since her eyes are green all the yellow helps to bring them out against the dark color of her skin. From there then you eye moves over to her hand, down her arm and through the rest of the piece. Its quite simple but efective.

Chainer prolly already knows the weak point to flat/textured pieces, which is why he did what he did.

And chainer, I suggest ya look into a anime called meine leibe (hope I spelled that right). They use a lot of that style of art work for the show.

Don't really post here much anymore, but Chainer that 2nd picture is fucking awesome. Comic book style, nice smooth lines .. makes me wish I could draw ^___^. Anyways gj man, keep up the good work.
