Cause Im a nice guy I thought I'd come post and give everyone that might read these 1337 boards the lowdown on the ranked server hosting issues. It would be unwise to rent a ranked server from one of the so called "trusted partners" at this point. They are rediculously overpriced in most cases more than double the cost of a server with more than adequate bandwidth and hardware to run the application. The first press releases indicated that EA would be running servers and "strictly regulating" any ranked servers but shortly before retail release they issued another release regarding the "trusted partner" approach. Our guess is that EA realised the cost associated with hosting "ranked" servers for a game that went gold in preorder and pushed it off on someone else and they are in turn passing the costs on to us
