It looked sexy as fucking hell, plus I would assume because of the interface it was actually playable like that.

PS3 itself is turning me off, and I wouldn't pay $600 just for FFXIII, sorry.

played two FF games so far and I must say I'll return to the series when they add good gameplay to nice CGI...

I can't get the link to work, so I don't know if it is right or not (if it is, then I am sorry) but isn't it FFXII that is coming out first, or do they already have footage for it. If it was just a typo, then you don't have to worry smashmethod becuase FFXII is for PS2 (even though it is like a month before PS3). It will use techniques sort of like what happened around the PS1/PS2 transfer time. It has PS3 graphics and everything, but on a PS2 (though probably won't be as great of graphics as a PS3 holds).

Well yeah, FFXII (12) is already out in asia and will be out here soon, I was talking about FFXIII (13), as the thread is about that

Okay that is cool. I was just checking because people make mistakes. Didn't mean to offend you. Regardless I am looking forward to both.

Well, I don't have a PS2 either, so I was screwed either way :p

Yah I guess, but I guess they are getting really cheap lately. Like I saw a new one for around $125 and if you look around you might be able to find it closer to $100. Though if you don't have a PS2 by now, then it would be better to save up and wait for PS3.

Are you sure that the PS3 is $600? I know it was going to be high, but that high. Though I heard it was around $300-400 (which is still very high).

official announcement during Eł - 600 bucks for the whole deal, or 500 if you can live without flash card slots, HDMI connector, missing WLAN and smaller hard drive (all of which, unlike with the Xbox 360, can't be added at a later date) - yes it's gonna be *that* high (and people bitched and moaned when the X360 "premium" launched for 400, heh)

Wowzers didn't know that.

Final Fantasy is doomed. Everything after IX have been beyond salvation. Now that ELECTRONIC ARTS are involved you might as well stop playing at all.

I was most of all disapointed with XI, but that is only because it was an MMORPG. XII is pretty much like XI, but single player style, or so I have heard. I think it is similar to the .hack// series (except it isn't really about an MMORPG), but that that play style, but I haven't read too much of the current info so I may be a little wrong.

I can live without Final Fantasy. Random encounters get repetitive, at some point I only wanted combat to be over asap but then you're running into difficult boss fights because you skipped "levelling", and many items are hidden so you can only find them if you know they're there, ie. with the official guide book which is a huge turnoff for me as an explorer.

I say no to levelling simulators with pretty graphics

Random encounters can be nice if the game mechanics work as they should. By that I mean fast loading, fast fights (i.e. NOT FFIX's ATB system lol) and not a zillion exp/item screens after the fight.

Final Fantasy VII are yet to be conquered as the best game ever concieved.

Well in FFXII random encounters are all gone. It is like a MMORPG where you see monsters on the field. If you see one chasing you then you can keep running to out run it (maybe) or pick up lots of monsters to create a big mob (lots of exp).
