Hi! i have a problem with my pc. When i log in into windows, some times the monitor closes down, and the pc is like crashing... Can't do nothing, except reboot from the button... When i open the L2 Client, and reach to the log in screen, the same thing happens. The monitor goes black, and the pc is crashed... What to do? I have thought that maybe this occurs from the graphics card... I have Geforce 4 MX 440 (shi-t)! I have formated the pc, and nothing happened. The same thingz. Will that be fixed if i change my gr. card?

I don't know, It could be. Too be honest I really have know Idea what is wrong :)

Firsty I would reccomend un-installing your graphics card Driver and downloading the latest ones from the nVidia website and installing them.

If the problem persists try running dxdiag (Start -> Run -> and type 'dxdiag' in the text box and click enter). Once that loads up click the Display tab at the top and run both the Test DirectDraw and Test Direct3D and see if any errors appear.

Both of those things I mentioned are just standard checks, but it is worth trying them in the mean time ill have a quick scan online when I get time at work.

Good luck :)

this doesnt sound like a graphics card issue. i would say its either a heat, voltage or ram problem. get this three tools: memtest / everest / prime95. they are all freeware, just google for an url where you can dl them.
check with everest if your cpu/gpu gets too hot or if your power supply doesnt provide enough energy.
run memtest to make sure your ram isnt damaged. you have to run it for some hours.
do the torture test in prime to make sure your processor and ram is working properly while it is stressed.
and get 3dmark05 and do this firefly forest test to check your gpu, its the test where your gpu produces the most heat.

if the screen goes black and the computer is still running its either the power supply or the grafic card thats not connected to the socet propely

Or could be a Hard Disk problem.

Remove any overlocking if you have done so. Failing that, make sure everthing is firmly plugged into your mobo (check RAM mostly) and if thats still fine then it's likely your PSU. I suggest you buy a new one and don't buy cheap ones because they fail and will cost you more over time than a decent one (Antec make good ones).

I think it's a Graphic Card problem. I install latest drivers but it's al ways reboot! For Memory, I have done many test and every time 0 Error so I think it's my Ati Radeon X800 pro ^^

Thx for replies ^^

I had the same problem and had no clue what was going on. I re-formated and installed Windows so many times that I was about to put my pc away and take my XBOX 360 out of the box. I ended up getting a new video card and that seem to fix the problem. But lately L2 gives me a CRITICAL NVIDIA error and it crashes me into desktop. Tonight I was in Siege and L2 crashed, lovely timing for sure. When I tried to re-log, my L2 video settings were HUGE. This has happened to me before and a few peps I know. This game still has video setting issues and it's the only game I play on PC that does that to me often. The only way to fix this now, is to re-install L2 and download tha patches since the L2 C4 Client download gives me a broken link error as well. <~~Patching as I type :)

Actually, someone told me I wasted a lot of time lol. Just hit alt+enter and that fixes the video settings. As for your problem, sounds like maybe something is over-heating or maybe your power thing is fried. Good luck.

as long as any other game/app works properly its a waste of money to get a new mobo cuz its not the source of your problem

its definitly worth a try
if you you have probs with l2 play a bit around with different driver versions (mobo/gpu) till you found a stable combination and stick with it then
