Ok i got a nvidia 6600 256mb card recently put in my comp and now everytime i alt+tab in l2 the game's gamma stays on my desktop. My desktop's gamma will be very high so i can't read shit on it.

this used to happen with my ati card but i would just open the control panel and it'd go away.

anyone have any way of stopping this or at least fixing it when it does happen?

ty in advance!

Try to max out the Brightness of ur screen, and set the gamma to Average. I think you will be better with that :)

k i'll try that.

I'm using the "fastest LCD on earth" at 4ms the viewsonic one if that matters . . .

19" LCD.

ms doesnt really matter
Try using contrast around 50 and brightness at 100.
Then set the L2 gamma to average. I think u ll like the result

Unreal's "neutral" settings are 0.5, 0.5, 1.0 for brightness / contrast / gamma.

Default (as seen in UnrealED (old ones only ?) or L2) is 0.8 / 0.7 / 0.8

So technically, gamma is lowered, but with significantly upped brightness, contrast. Either way, it looks like shit imo.

You have few options:

- patch L2 with l2encdec's patcher, then fix the settings in L2.ini to neutral values (http://dstuff.l2wh.com), encrypt back, enjoy normal colors.

- if you don't want patching, grab user.ini from that site (L2 still accepts plain text user.ini) - you can control in game contrast/brightess/gamma + reset to neutral, using [ ] ; ' . / and \ Adjust/remove bindings (and other stuff) as necessary.

yup, i did zoomhacks last week and it fixed it. gay having to re-install it every week though. :(

Reinstall every week ? You mean L2 getting patched ?

If user.ini is all you need, just copy your premade versions with whatever "hacks" you need.
