ive been using DeadAIM forever and now it keeps fucking up my computer. i dont like Trillian because I have different groups set up in my AIM window, and each group ends up with its own window to be tabbed, I WANT THEM ALL IN ONE.

so, anyone got any suggestions?

Get gAIM. Should come pre-installed with most distros if you use Linux, and you can get the Windows version online at gaim.sf.net

I used to use Trillian, but now switched over to gaim. I haven't used regular AIM since it like first came out.
