Hello everyone
Im writing this is objectively as i can, i come from a server filled with botters and raid farmers, where it is accepted on Kain, it isnt on alot of
other servers, especially on Bartz as ive been told, i know ormjaevel and
mec a little bit from playing Rocket Arena Quake3 on the swedish scene,
so i have been brought up to date a few times.
This is meant for all those people who dont understand why L2 is the way it is today.
Why are there so many botters?
Why are there so many farmers?
Why are there so many ebayers?
The answer is that there is a market for it, if there is no market for adena sales, powerleveling etc there would be no farmers, hence noone gaining unfair advantages, i will address the part about botting in a minute.
The vast majority of farmers are from china, the reason isnt poverty, but because chinese people are resourceful, perseverent and hard working, you can flame me for this, but i am friends with a few raid farmers on kain
and most of them are very nice people, loyal and honest, their morale with their friends is sometimes better than with western people and their friends.
One of the farmers is called Jin, this is an alias, 19 years of age and resides in the city of Zhengzhou in the Henan province in China, by working as a farmer he can earn almost twice as much as having a normal job without any real qualifications, most people in china have only the most basic of education, 1st to 9th grade for example, some dont receive much education at all because their family often needs them work for extra money to provide their household with necessities, Jin earns around 1600 Yuan each month, its around 200 dollars, not alot in our part of the world, but enough to live a decent life in china, mind you still twice as much as a normal job, so who wouldnt want to work as a farmer? ;)
Concerning botting, the reason that botting is abundant now is the fact that its so easily available and free with different types of cracks/work-arounds, most western people that bot nowadays are either one of two types of people, there might be more dont quote me on this, actually i will just give you some examples. :P
A. Someone who was played since open beta / prelude, and as a 75 character and maybe a subclass, the person does not want to invest the same amount of time in the game anymore, maybe the person is bored with the endless grind or has real life to attend to (yeah right)
B. Someone who comes fresh from another game and doesnt wanna start out on the same terms that everyone, someone who enjoys pvp and the interaction with another players, but hates the grind, and therefore uses a third party program to automate gameplay, and ofcourse hes gonna need some cash and buys some adena from a game site.
Everyone is entitled to their opponion thats why we have the freedom of speech, maybe not in china, but you get the point.
This is my point of view, remember if there wasnt a market for second market goods, like adena, powerleveling etc. there wouldnt be a single farmer playing L2.
I'm not saying that buying adena, getting powerleveled or botting is just fine, im just saying that i dont hold it against anyone who does, its their life, their money, and their time.
I'm pretty tired, so i will make this short, if you've come this far i salute you, maybe now you understand why things work like they do in L2.
