When characters die, they will now receive a penalty of reduced combat capability at a certain rate (about the same rate as the previous item drop rate). The penalty for death is applied cumulatively. If you die again after the penalty has been applied, the new penalty is applied on top of the existing penalty. The penalty can be viewed in the Status window and it has a permanent duration.

Will this mean an end to low end farmers deleveling on guards?

no. they will still lose xp. it just means that training them is worthless if you hope for some good equipment drops cause u can't drop anything anymore, unless you're red.

Id say yes. Cause the death penalty is cumulatively, therefore bots will have to buy a recovery scroll for each death. Go figure the amount of adena spent :)

hmm, the question is if you need 1 scroll for x debuffs or 1 scroll for each time you got debuffed.

Pretty sure the debuffs will rise in lvls. So debuff lvl1 to whatever. 1 scroll for each debuff lvl would own the farmers badass, at least in the low end region

Wouldn't this also mean repeated training of them would eventually make them unable to kill in the area they are in and take even more deaths?

I think this is a decent trade-off, no item drops but you can actually hurt them now to the point where they can't operate.

this sounds like a good thing, against the ever growing problem, BUT it doesnt happen everytime they die, it happens once in a while like the current "item drop rate"

Wohoo! 24 buffs! i want 20 of those books!

But what about mana pots? arent they gonna make the nukers even more powerfull?

otherwise a good patch

Yeah but training a whole 9 man bot party, one of em has a good chance to get it. Mess with em enough and you will put the train out of commission for a while and hit their bottom line on 3 fronts. A) Farming time lost completely due to full group wipe. B) Reduced killing efficiency so less adena per hour. C) Money needing to be spent on scrolls to remove the debuff. We don't know yet if one scroll can remove multiple debuffs which have stacked, if that is the case then it hurts them even more.

Mana pots won't be that useful. An A grade pot apparently gives like 340 or 360 MP or so with a reuse time of 10 minutes. They are also pretty expensive to make in relation to what they actually give. They will have some small uses IMO in certain situations or circumstance. What it definitely will not do is make a nuker any more powerful than he/she already is.

Skills that summon party members have been added.

* The “Summon Friend” skill, which enables a Summoner to summon party members, has been added. Elemental Summoners, Phantom Summoners, and Warlocks can acquire this skill at level 56. Spellbooks can be acquired as drops from monsters and at the Magic Stores of Rune Township and the Town of Goddard. These items are sold at a certain time at a certain rate.
* The character summoned must have the Summoning Crystal. Summoning Crystals can be purchased at a town grocer.
* You cannot summon party members to battle grounds, certain raid boss regions, and the Olympiad Stadium. You cannot summon party members who are engaged in combat or dead.
* More party summoning classes will be added in a later update.

Utter garbage. still... WTB!! Dark Avengers are summoners too.

The number of quests that can be simultaneously taken has been significantly increased to 25 from 15. Awesome.

ok, I got uber info now lol

1 scroll used = 1 lvl "death penalty debuff" removed
so if you have lvl 3 debuff, you need 3 scrolls. gogo farmers, have fun

I died 30 times on the PTS to guards from lvl 22 to 19 and got debuffed 5 times.

The debuff decreases patk, matk, pdef, mdef, accuracy (by 3!! each lvl), evasion (by 3!! each lvl), speed, attack speed and casting speed. So ... this debuff sucks ass.

Yeah the patch is cool, and they are adding in L2's first cut scene also...

Heh, mana pots..won't be that big of a deal really.

OMFG I think I'm going to be sick after reading ALL of the patch notes and the various replies on all of the different server threads here on L2Blah http://pimpmywarez.com/smilies/puke.gif

If the reuse time on the mana pots are 10 minutes, kinda cool, but what is it with this no drop thing? kinda ruins the game alot. Now you can just run into anything and say, "hey, i only lost some exp", or "hey lucky me i have a clanhall to give me % back". Not beeing able to drop items sucks imho :(

Cuts down the number of people that work for 3 months to get an A or S grade helm then quit when it drops 3 days later and gets picked up by someone else who doesn't want to give it back b/c it's part of the game.

also cuts down on the number of daggers willing to train bots
there's nothing to gain now

Boxx

exactly, the whole dropping items part were the only reason to stay alive, now a death is maximum 4-10 hours of more grinding at high lvl. If ppl dont like the 3 month grind, they should go play wow or something!

Recovery scrolls are rather cheap. The chance of getting a debuff is +/- like chance of dropping an item previously. It's a tiny fart on a wind. Plus, luck scrolls prevent penealty, and those are quite cheap as well.

pro-bot patch ftw !

How much are these scrolls and where are they purchased? (i'm guessing regular trader?)

I won't be able to get on for a while so I was curious

CandyCain

I picked up a few last night; they are real cheap, and yeah regular grocery has them. exp loss is all anyone has to worry about now. The low end mat farmers won't have to warehouse gear any more to delevel. No one will train farmers anymore. This may cost ncsoft accounts tho cause I think farmers over do party strength because of getting trained.

This means I won't drop anymore when I die an other time... I even dropped my main armor once... Because of this change I come back to L2 official servers...

Great change for those that bot. Those removal scrolls are cheap like hell and compared to what bots usually dropped it's just a big joke.

An A grade scroll costs little above 50k which is about nothing compared to what I usually get - eg BO necklace+3, a doom helmet+4, 480 Animals Bones, etc - all stuff I got from bot trains lately before NcSoft decided to add this crap.

Now you can go afk without the slightest risk if you are not dumb as bread and bot at some public place and don't know how to setup l2w/l2s.

GG NcSoft - another proof they love their botters even though they randomly ban players at the start of each chronicle to look like they care.
