friend wants help and told me to post this:
so my old rig was a abit-aw8, pentium d 930, geforce 7900 gt, 2x1gb geil pc6400, audigy 2 zs, 2x WD800jb raid 0. and basicly what happened is my comp froze while updating bios by disk (yeah im pissed too especially since my comp never freezes) and i got a new bios chip. I did a shitty job removing the old chip and broke the bios shell. I would be able to boot up if i got the bios shell aligned right but it was a pain in the ass, after a few days i finally tried using super glue (bad idea) and i havent had a full boot up since.
after about a few hours of trying i finally gave up, and bought a gigabyte ga-p65p-s3! but yet after installing all my components i realized that the board would endlessly restart if i had the 4 pin 12V connector and the proccessor both installed.
it is either a defective board (unlikely) or.... my proccesor was killed by bios?
Does anyone believe a poor bios connection would kill a proccesor?
should i try to get a proccesor from a friend or just try to get my pentium d 930 replaced by intel?
the sadness of being computerless is finally getting to me
thanks
