So i was wonderin here in Holland (and the country's next to Holland, Germany Belgium etc) Fireworks are a pretty big thing.

And i don't mean firework shows or whatever, no buying your own fireworks :ef_luv2:

I mean i know they have great fireworks shows over there in the states but what about buying your own stuff is it a allowed?

Here is my collection for this year :om_luv2: Total costs: ~500 Euro's

I never got into the whole fireworks thing. I think my interest in it peaked when I was like 18 so I could buy it myself, and I spent like maybe 50 euros on it or something. Nowadays I just look at the sky and boggle at all the money going up in smoke.
One of my friends' brothers blew off all 5 fingers on one of his hands a couple of years ago, and brags about it. Why, is beyond most of us. I'm assuming it's because of denial of his own stupidity.

Nowadays I might buy a few of those sparkly sticks, what's the english term for them? But I don't even get to use all of those. Last year I got to use 1 and that was to just light people's cigarettes.

I live 200 meters from a nato communications base and half a mile from a stadium which both puts up at least one "big one", but I have never been at home to watch it.

In the US it depends on the state. There are three levels: those that ban all fireworks, those that ban good fireworks (ie: firecrackers and rockets) and those that allow them all.

Generally for the 4th of July you can get away with a lot more and shoot off any kind of fireworks in most areas except heavily populated big cities. Many states that ban them or the good ones neighbor a state that doesn't so people just drive there to get their fireworks as there are big places right on the state border.

I've had the cops called on us at a buddy's house when we were shooting them off at 1am on the 4th and we were in a state with the lighter ban and shooting off rockets but it was just to tell us to stop as it was late.

Also on New Years Eve you can get away with shooting them off too from the time its dark until ~12:30a-1am New Years Day.

Another 4th of July party some dude showed up with homemade or professional fireworks..basically cardboard balls of gunpowder. We placed one in my rocket mortar and it obliterated it (NO trace left of the mortar) and it was such a loud explosion that it seemed like the ground shook and the city street lights went out (!!) in the surrounding block.

These days I mainly am amused by fireworks by their annoyance potential: you can now get packs of 20,000 shot firecrackers that take 20 minutes to finish. You better believe you'll have some pissed off neighbors after those :)

nice selection of fire works. in many states those are hard to come by. most states have some restrictions on the big ones. but there are several states that have non what so ever. normally in the east and with low population Densities. also a few deserts states do not just because there is nothing to burn down.

once me and friends bought about 1,000 dollars(smallest order they would do) worth of fire works off the internet. It was shipped to us in a Hazmat truck.

LOL

I would have beeen seriously "wtf" so see a hazmat truck pull upto my house.

I spent about $150 on new years, nothing big, but I was out of town and EVERYONE does fireworks in Houston, so it was pretty cool to hear it and see it all over. I'm from DFW and they are not allowed in city limits because it's generally dry.
