I'm trying to install lineage on Vista and getting a load of error messages that says

.\system\core.dll the fiel cannot be created please verify avaliable disk space and write permissions

and where is says core in there, it says all different things including system.exe.

Then when I try to load the game I get this message:

OS: Windows NT 6.0 (Build: 6000)
CPU: GenuineIntel PentiumPro-class processor @ 1868 MHz with 1021MB RAM
Video: No Video

Assertion failed: MetaClass [File:.\UnProp.cpp] [Line: 993]

History: UClassProperty::Serialize <- (ClassProperty Engine.Engine.OrcBabo) <- LoadObject <- (ClassProperty Engine.Engine.OrcBabo 1156266==1156266/2805231 1156250 16) <- ULinkerLoad::Preload <- LinkProperties <- UStruct::Link <- UState::Link <- UClass::Link <- UStruct::Serialize <- (Class Engine.Engine) <- UState::Serialize <- UClass::Serialize <- (Class Engine.Engine) <- LoadObject <- (Class Engine.Engine 1156266==1156266/2805231 240005 367) <- ULinkerLoad::Preload <- ULinkerLoad::Preload <- PreLoadObjects <- UObject::EndLoad <- UObject::StaticLoadObject <- (Core.Class Engine.n Core.Object.SubtractSubtract_PreInt NULL) <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- InitEngine

WTF is this?

I'm going to try the fix thats suggested a couple of posts down but this is different cus its not an update to vista, its me trying to install to begin with. Also I have run a full check, same outcome very time.

Have you disabled UAC? (User Access Control) That part of vista is a bitch, With it off it might not allow you to Install something, I get lots of error's like when I'm installing Adobe Reader.

Yes, it is a pain in the ass.

Go to Control Panel, Click "User Accounts And Family Settings", "User Accounts" then click turn off User Access control. Restart your computer and that fing message will not come up again.
