By all means im not looking for the best, $500, of either of the 2

im looking for a decent sound card that will improve my sound quality

also looking for probably a 5.1 sound system, i want good speakers and powerful subwoffer that i will be able to actually feel the floor shake a bit =D

im not really on a budget but i would like something relatively cheap

i got audigy xfi platnium sound card. $149.99
(with front pannel control input/output)
and kenwood VR-615 5.1 surround with optical input
(bought this back in 2001 still works great)
