update connection problem

hey guys, i downloaded the full interlude off fileplanet, ran the setup.
everything seems to have installed alrite...

once i open up L2, it connects to the update server, but the first file doesnt even start to download... after about 2 min, i get a 'connection to server has been terminated' message and the updater closes.

im using vista, but i know for a fact that it runs l2 cause ive been able to log in a while back (C5).. had some log in issues back then too.

ive set all the vista options to 'off' like stated in other threads (defender, user control or w.e) ive even tried to uninstall mcafee anitvirus.. nothing works.. shutdown the firewall doesnt seem to help either.

Any ideas on what can be blocking my connection to the updater..??

Any input would help.. last resort, ill go back to xp (pain in the ass to do so)

Have you tried to log in latley? I am not positive if that is your problem, but Tuesday mornings the servers are usually down for maintenance. You may have been unlucky enough to try installing the game at the same time the servers were down. Usually go down 2 hours every Tuesday morning.

Are you connecting through a firewall or a router in your building? I had the same problem and it turned out my landlord was blocking L2 ports.

What you can try is a SOCKS5 proxy service or just switch ISPs.

It's not Vista's fault...I don't use vista and i have the same problem..."The connection to the update server has been terminated"...I have tried since 1h30 yesterday night but no ways !!!

When I use the file l2.exe I manage to avoid the update but i have only access to Bartz....And my chars are on Teon !!!

Someone told me that i was booted on PTS... I never went on PtS or even on private servers...

Before yesterday night i never had problems...Except quwerty keyboard :p

I'm fed up with NcSoft damned stupidities...

What do you think of that ?

i also have this problem when my router displays to windows that it only has a limited connection. This can easily be resolved by doing a restore of your IP in the config window at networksettings and choose your lan connection and fix it :)
