Why don't you get a desktop monitor worth a shyt then come back? 1440x900 is for n00bs. ;p

Here is what I got and what I paid for it from memory (yes I KNOW you can build a similar rig for a lot less today):

Generic Black Case w/450watt PS ($55)
AMD Sempron 3500+ OC'd to 2.2ghz ($65)
1GB DDR2-SDRAM 667mhz OC'd to 737mhz ($47)
WD Raptor 150GB (OEM) ($180)
Linksys WMP54GX4 Wireless card w/SRX400 ($70)
EVGA Geforce 7600GS w/512mb DDR2 ($120)
Onboard Sound (0 :)
Sceptre X20G NagaIII 1680x1050 20.1" widescreen monitor ($354)
Klipsch Promedia 5.1 THX Certified Surround sound (~$300)
Logitech Wireless Optical Mouse ($60)
Cyberpower 800va/450watt battery backup ($73)
Samsung ML-1450 Monochrome Laser Printer ($200)

I could upgrade the soundcard to an SB Audigy v1.0 but I don't know if it'd be any better.

My LCD TV is pretty crappy (20" Toshiba 20HL85 its very small), but I don't get HDTV so don't see the need to upgrade.

This is the TV I want to get once the price drops some tho--42" true 1080p plasma:

But the kicker is you can already get the 50" for $2735 delivered. Maybe I should wait for the 65" ($7500) or 71" ($15,000) to drop in price some more? :)

might support 1080p but it will never use it at that size of a monitor. Think its around 5x that 1080p really shines.

Intel e6600 (C2D 2.4Ghz/c $MB L2 Cache)
Asus P5B-VM DO
2GB OCZ Rev 2.0 (Running at 800Mhz)
Seagate 500GB Sata 7200rpm
ATI Radeon x1950 Pro
OCZ 600w PSU
Antec P180 Case

Oh, and for those of you who are using TV's as a display... Congrats for going low-quality.. TV's have a significantly lower number of pixels per square inch. If you want to brag about size, go buy a 48" lg monitor. I'll respect that, but then again, I'd have to laugh at anybody who spends more then $20'000 for a screen, lol.
