Vista Connection Problems

So here's the 411.

Just got Vista 32bit Business Edition installed yesterday.
I have the run as an administrator and the ports open on the firewall.
Yet, when I run the launcher I get "The Connection to Update Server has been Terminated"

have you disabled user account control? It's like Kryptonite to some games that depend on more than one running program (such as gameguard).
do you run any sort of download programs while trying to update?

yea i have the same problem with mine, except i have just regular windows vista.

Are you running:

Norton Internet Security?
Windows LiveOneCare?
McAfee Internet Security?
other??

i have McAfee Internet Security.

turn off the firewall and run the program again. if that doesn't work, the firewall could have blocked it for somereason. Go into the properites of the firewall and see if it is allowed. If it is, and it still doesn't work. Uninstall McAfee and reinstall it.

what version of l2 are you installing?
Try to download the latest installer online and use that. I had similar issues installing on vista with the original L2 cds.
I'd definately do this if it disconnect around the time it changes the update image.

has anyone els noticed the error with vista? sometimes my keyboard goes all wack when im playing L2 and i cant type messages, or when i try to pm someone with the quotations " ill press the quotation button and nothing comes up... its very frusterating. or when i try to do a / forward slash comand that button wont work. i have to go to my keypad and use that forward slash.

I have not had anything like this issue. What keyboard are you using it sounds like the keyboard itself may be faulty or have a bad driver if its a nicer USB model.

I don't know why you have problems.
I run Windows Vista Home Premium and have no problem with Lineage2.

I set up to run as administrator,give full rights to Lineage2 folder and works just fine.
I had a problem with updates(didnt want to update the *.dll and *.exe files),but I fix it by giveing full rights to Lineage2 folder.
