WOW virtual plague?

Have anyone heard or saw anything about it. I have a buddy of mine playing the game cracking up over it. Says its liek AIDS in video games or something. dropping NPCs and what not. Thought it was hilarious

There's like a end boss I think that gives players a DoT around it and the DoT is a AoE type thing so players near players that are infected get infected. So a party gets infected with the DoT, goes back to town, infects an NPC, and the NPC perm gets the DoT, while spreading to everyone around it, so like lots of people die.

It's something like that, not too sure.

it would go away soon enough and it doesn't instantly kill lvl.60s for which this curse was designed - but it's possible to "carry" the disease on a contaminated pet, which is what happened, then spread in a city... In capitals where many - also low level players and mules - are around, it spread from player to player and could stay on NPCs (without killing them) to further contaminate new players (which lead to many dead lowbies, since ~300 damage every two seconds is a bit too much for players who have roughly 500 HP at lvl.20 IIRC).

BTW, I think it's considered exploiting and will earn you a ban, like they did with players who carried Baron Geddon's Bomb (also a "reward" in an endgame boss encounter) the same way into high population zones like the Auction House (ie. on a dismissed pet)
