USB MOUSE

About a month ago i started getting this error but didn't think nothing of it.

Basically intermittently and at completely random times my USB mouse (razor diamond back) just powers down , or flashes on and off then i get the "USB Device not recognized", all i do is unplug and plug the mouse and plug it back in, it will then repeat this either 5 minutes or 5 hours later.

I've tried adding dword strings to the registry and it still keeps randomly shutting off, very annoying when gaming.

EDIT: It will also blink on and off , at which point i cant move the cursor, and rarely it will come back on instantly even when I'm not moving the mouse, i doubt its hardware, wires anyway, they all seem fine.

Any ideas?

Either A:

Use a different USB port.. (if your connected to a back port, try a front port.. or one of the furthest ports..)

B:

The cable that runs from the mouse to the computer is shot... bent/crimped/screwed in some fashion that it's now starting to produce these kinds of problems. Solution for this? Replace it, via warranty or your own hard earned cash... perferably get a logitech G5/G9 or Microsoft InteliExplorer mouse (top quality)

You should try a mouse that is brain controlled. If it dies then, you have more serious issues to worry about.
