hi i dont play this server...but i know its hard to lv etc etc, i just want to ask if on this server ppl hang out as summoner for pvp? i mean alone like normal ppl go as mage or warrior, ppl there do it like summoner? =) simple question and wat u think about that?

So why FFXIV?

• It's not made by NCSoft
• FFXIV will not be a level/experience based game!! I believe the last major MMO to do this was Star Wars Galaxies, and even they completely rehauled their MMO to get rid of it, which needless to say disappointed many people. SWG was imo, before its time, and a skill-based system now is a refreshing change from all the WoW-clone MMOs.
• For those who are not familiar to a skill-based system, basically the more you use of a weapon/skill, the better you become at it. So technically there still is a "grind" but you have the freedom to make your character however you want it. In FFXIV this is determined by the weapon you have equipped. For example, if you using a mage weapon, the better your nuking skills become, or if you have a blacksmith hammer to craft stuff, the better your crafting becomes. We don't know how exactly this system works, but that's the jist of it.
• All of the music is being composed by Nobuo Uematsu!
• It's not made by NCSoft.

There's a lot more info you can read at the FAQ, but I just wanted to get it out there that this isn't going to be a WoW-clone, but possibly an MMO that will finally break out of the WoW mold and be something different (and pretty).

your sir are a moron, playonline/squareenix opened ff11 with the same story, you can be a warrior or a mage depending on your gear, you couldnt just switch gear and be w/e, and htey said you could mix two jobs, but again false advertising, there will be jobs no doubt about it, there wont be a "make your own class" option, it will be "choose your class" and it will be your base class, also watch some videos when they open their profile screen, it says blackmage or Darkknight, you should really do your research before creating a half assed website, it will be the same as the last one, which was good in my opinion, just needed alot more pvp and maybe some payable teleports and id be down

Selection of Beta Testers

* Tester selection will be based solely upon the content of applications. Selected individuals will be contacted via e-mail.
* Priority will not be given to applications based on order of submission.
* There will be several rounds of tester selection, with the total number of participants increasing each time.
* Once selected, participants will be able to continue in their role until the end of the Beta Test phase.
