If it is supposed to be computer for smoothest playing of Lineage 2, then i7 920 is worthless (performance gain in games agains Core2 architecture is insignifficant).
Graphic card (HD4870) is powerful enought to run with all eye candy effects.
my opinion:
C2D E8400 (or 8500) OC 4GHz
8/16 GB DDR2 RAM (depends on motherboard selection how much it support, 4*2GB stiocks are extremely cheap now, 4*4 is a bit more expensive option)
choosing HDD is very important thing for L2.
best solutions (without raid)
cheap: WD6400AAKS (wisely divided into partitions - outer track = fastest seek)
expensive: intel X-25 (M or E based on your budget) - and while using ramdisk, this will not improve L2 performance - its a luxury thing
soft:
XP/Vista x64 (its new comp, so Vista is prefered)
RAMDISK software (there are more options, which one to choose - even free version)
with 16GB RAM option you can create 10GB ramdisk, copy lineage into it and store its image on HDD (after restart you wil only load image of "L2 drive" into ramdisk)
with "only" 8 GB you need to divide L2 folder using softlinks (yeah, NTFS supports them) and store in ramdisk textures and animations (sounds and music leave on HDD) eg. you will have 5GB ramdisk and 3GB memory left for applications (enought for single client with background programs running)
this should give you smoothest run of L2 (no hdd loading), no fps drop caused by massive HDD loading ...
and one more thing: DISABLE using of swap
why ramdisk ? because 7200rpm drive load l2files at maximum 10MB/s (avg) - this number if far from what you read in previews about superb drive performance in sustained read/write (this is least important thing for real performance)
ramdisk, on the other side, will be limited by CPU - instant load of data, its only on CPU how fast it can "consume" loaded data
