polt, you really should say something more then discuss. However there really isn't much to discuss since NCsoft only announced they were keeping in contract with Epic by purchasing the UE3 engine. I don't belive there is even any offical word that L3 is in production. And there won't be much to discuss until they announce L3 offically and give a little insite into what the game will be about.
L3 has been in development since the dev of C4 FYI ~
There was rumors that they started development. This came because NCsoft decided to keep in relationship with Epic and purchase the UE3 engine. The resonable guess is, yes, NCsoft is working on L3. However there is no offical statments, that I can find, that says the game is actually in the works. The Engine could also have been bought for a completly new game . But IFit is for L3, we still won't see the game in NA for close to 4 years.
and no 2 1/2 - 3 years isn't crazy for a established company. But I would say it will be closer to 3-4 years just adding in any unexpected set backs. They are projecting the time it would take if everything went perfectly. Which we all know is nearly impossible...Also that date runs the same lines as the rumor I have heard. What I have heard was that L2 was widly considered a failure by Ncsoft and that was the main reason for the go ahead for L3. I have been told that release time is supposed to be right close to when we would see chronical 8, because they are planning on stopping L2 at chronical 7. Just what I have over heard. Don't know how much is true, but given the dates it sounds plausable.
they are planning on doing 12 chronicals, just like lineage 1, and then they will most likely start borrowing l3 stuff for any chronicals after that, just like they did in l1 with stuff from l2
Hmm, I say they just release a Chronicle 8 retail expansion, that makes the game L3, so people can keep what they have. It is true though that it would be nice to have a new game, where everyone has to start out fresh with some better game mechanics than Lineage 2.
Really I don't think I would worry about L3 for a long time though. If it is 2007 on the Korean sites, then it will probally be 2008 or 2009 before it hits North America.

I have heard this also, but I don't think that they couldn't make L2 a better and more popular game with 8 more planned Chronicles. With 8 More Chronicles they could change so much about the game that it would seem new. The only thing the new engine would really do is upgrade the graphics, and the current graphics are one of the strongest points of L2, so I wouldn't see where this would give to much of an advantage.
if L3 does come out, would it be in like a different time peroid then lineage 2 is taking place. Like will they still be using swords, fighting monsters, riding striders, have castles but you can go in outer space? Or something futureistic? Maby the ppl who played lineage 1 could help me cuz they would know if L1 was in a different time period from L2

Lineage 2 is 150 years before Lineage 1. Maybe Lineage 3 will be 150 years before Lineage 2?
I think they shold just copy everything over from Lineage 1, all the names, items, places, the map, and add in the new graphics.
o, btw, since it was 150 years before lineage 2, what kinda stuff was in it? were there like space ships or something? or was it exactly the same sorta

It was basically the same. There were a couple of new areas, Oren was covered with snow, Kent Castle and town pop up in between Gludin and Giran. There is an Orc Fortress that you can siege ( that would ROCK for L2 ), theres an "Orc-Town", there are 2 noob areas that you leave at level 10, there is no pvp there, and nobody over level 10 can go there. There is also a town called Silver Knight Town, which is where all the noobs hang out..
The map was moved around alot, really.. ( it was a better map.. )
ahhhh, cool. But ya if L3 was in the future, and u can fly on like boats and new races that live in water or something, it would be cool
l1 has floating islands and real underwater dungeons. Not that stupid 10 second tunnel bullshit. A good chunk of hiene is underwater in l1, and windawdood castle has its own dungeon. L1 has so many nice things that I dont see why they didn't bring to l2. I bet we get it in a much later chronical... stupid cunts drawing this shit out on purpose.
